Case Study
MyTime Young Carers
A platform for growth and impact
MyTime approached Studio Global to design and build a new website that could evolve with them – a digital platform to support their mission of empowering young carers across the UK.
The goal was simple but ambitious: create a clear, engaging, and accessible experience that could communicate effectively with a wide range of audiences while supporting the charity’s future national growth.
The goal was simple but ambitious: create a clear, engaging, and accessible experience that could communicate effectively with a wide range of audiences while supporting the charity’s future national growth.
With MyTime preparing to expand its reach beyond Dorset, they needed a website that could speak to everyone – from young carers and parents to teachers, funders, and corporate partners.
The challenge was to bring these audiences together in a single, intuitive platform that would feel warm, trustworthy, and distinctly ‘MyTime’.

A digital home
designed for growth
We began with a deep dive into MyTime’s audiences – mapping user journeys and defining the most effective routes to key content. At the same time, MyTime was refreshing its brand identity, and we worked closely with the team to ensure that the new website evolved in sync with these developments.
This collaborative process allowed us to translate emerging brand elements into a cohesive digital experience from day one.

From early wireframes to final designs, every choice balanced empathy with energy: a bright, confident look and feel inspired by MyTime’s refreshed brand guidelines and shaped with accessibility in mind.
The new site structure delivers clarity for every visitor, whether they’re looking for support, information, or ways to get involved. Clear signposting, accessible layouts, and simple navigation ensure a seamless experience across devices, helping users find what they need quickly and confidently.

Design that brings
their mission to life
Our design approach focused on creating a sense of optimism and empowerment - capturing the spirit of young carers and the professionals who support them. The colour palette, typography, and iconography were developed in parallel with MyTime’s brand refresh, allowing us to help shape the visual identity while ensuring the website became one of the first places the new brand came to life.
Thoughtful use of photography and illustration supports storytelling, encourages engagement, and reinforces the warmth and humanity at the heart of MyTime’s work.
Every page is designed with purpose - whether it’s encouraging donations, showcasing impact, or connecting users with essential resources. The flexible CMS allows the MyTime team to easily update and expand their content as the charity grows.

Accessibility at the
heart of the experience
Creating a website for young carers means designing with accessibility front and centre - ensuring every visitor, regardless of age or ability, can navigate with confidence.
As part of the project, we carried out a full accessibility review, ensuring the new MyTime site meets WCAG standards and delivers a barrier-free experience for users with differing needs. This included:
- Ensuring colour accessibility, with contrast ratios suitable for users with impaired or low vision
- Designing clear typographic hierarchies for readability across all devices
- Streamlining navigation and interactive elements to support easy, intuitive use
- Building templates that are structurally compliant with accessibility best practice
The result is a website that not only looks engaging - but functions in a way that is welcoming, inclusive, and robust enough to support MyTime’s diverse audiences long into the future.
