At Global, we believe in branding as a catalyst for change. This belief guided us as we partnered with the Bournemouth Towns Fund to create the Better Boscombe brand, a vibrant representation of the culture, heritage, and energy of Boscombe. This was not just another project for us; it was an opportunity to craft a brand that genuinely reflects our neighbourhood, where we are born and bred.

Boscombe is a unique place with a distinct identity. Our branding captured its essence — self-reliant, industrious, and individual, rooted in Victorian heritage. We developed a comprehensive semiotic system that highlighted the local culture and environment.

We lived on Havilland before the Sovereign Centre existed. We shopped in the Co-op with our mums, ran through the wild winter waves smashing over the prom, and experienced both sides of Boscombe’s tracks—the hustle and bustle, the nightlife and wildlife. Boscombe has a wildness, an edge, and a wit that we instinctively understood. This was our turf. Studio Global. Shelley Road East.

Successful communication was about more than just aesthetics; it was about making an impact. For Better Boscombe, success was found through clarity and consistency, connecting people with a clear vision at an emotional level. We aimed to change behaviour for the better and placed people at the centre of everything we did.
Success for Better Boscombe wasn't just about a new logo but about storytelling and creating an emotional connection. We believed that clear and consistent communication could improve behaviour by placing people at the heart of everything we did. All the design, content and stories were designed to resonate deeply with the local community, with authenticity and relevance. 

Our campaign for Better Boscombe included a full suite of assets and execution, from branding to strategy, social media, print, events, animations, installations and videos. We lifted local community heroes, shot films, and designed materials that all spoke the language of Boscombe. The visuals were stunning, crafted with love and a critical eye for what would land and what would be derided on our turf.
Following the success of Better Boscombe, we expanded our efforts to the Bournemouth Towns Fund communication plan. This involved a holistic approach to brand communications, ensuring that all messaging was cohesive and aligned with the overarching goals of the Towns Fund. We implemented a robust strategy that included social media campaigns, community events, and targeted print materials. Our team’s expertise in videography brought the campaign to life, capturing the essence of Bournemouth’s development initiatives and engaging the community on a deeper level.

Our approach ensured that the voices of the local community were heard and celebrated. We shot films featuring local heroes and developed engaging content that resonated with diverse audiences.
Our work with the Bournemouth Towns Fund is ongoing, driven by a vision of continuous improvement and engagement. We are committed to maintaining the momentum we’ve built, ensuring that our branding efforts lead to sustained positive change.
