From car shows to copy – storytelling with a technical twist!
Ben brings a unique blend of scriptwriting, media production and web-savvy thinking to the team. Whether he’s behind the camera, writing compelling copy, or helping shape our next creative project, he’s always got an eye for the bigger picture and a snack at the ready.
WHAT'S YOUR NAME AND WHAT DO YOU DO AT STUDIO GLOBAL?
Hi, I’m Ben – the newest addition to the Studio Global team. I’ve joined as a Digital Production and Copywriter, combining visual creativity with a love for storytelling.
IF YOU HAD ONE WORK-RELATED SUPERPOWER, WHAT WOULD IT BE?
If I could have one work-related superpower, it would be instantly knowing the answer to anything – whether it's finding my lost keys or cracking a creative brief. That said, there’s something satisfying about exploring different solutions or experimenting with new ideas. On tougher days? Invisibility might come in handy too.
WHAT LED YOU TO YOUR CURRENT ROLE?
As a kid, I dreamed of being an author, which evolved into scriptwriting as I got older. At university, I chose a more hands-on path and studied TV Production. My first industry break came from a YouTube editing gig that led me to work with some of the former Top Gear team. Over five years with the same production company, I went from Production Assistant to Second Camera Operator and Drone Pilot on a classic car series – travelling the UK and meeting fascinating people along the way. With traditional TV shrinking, I was ready for something more stable and creative, and closer to home – which led me here.
fun facts
Hidden hobby? Coin and stamp collecting! It started with the 2012 Olympic coins, and let’s just say it spiralled from there. I probably have around £300 worth of coins and notes that I can’t spend anymore.
A quirky surprise? My partner is Zimbabwean – not strictly about me, but an important part of my world. Also, I’m 6’5” but terrible at basketball. I do a decent job in the kitchen though... usually washing up.
go-to work snack
I try to be healthy (salads at lunch!) but I’m known for getting through a packet of Jaffa Cakes in record time. Croutons are also weirdly addictive – don’t ask!!
If you could be any animal for a day, what would you be and why?
I'd go underwater for the day – maybe as a shark, just to make sure I’m not someone else’s lunch. We've all seen the world from above thanks to drones and planes, but the deep sea still feels like one of the last true mysteries.
What’s been your favourite memory since joining the team?
Filming the Après Provence brand launch videos has been a highlight. Shooting on the beach and boats, in the sunshine, and calling it work – that’s hard to beat.
Who would be on your superhero squad?
Everyone on the team brings something different, but if I had to pick one, it’d be Miro. He seems to have an answer for everything – or at least knows exactly where to start looking.
What's on your bucket list, that you're determined to tick off?
Visit every country in the world (I’m on 24 so far!).
Give back by coaching football or teaching media abroad – maybe Ghana, Camp America, or Zimbabwe.
Learn a new language properly – I’d love to speak fluent Mandarin, especially after spending three weeks in China during a summer exchange.
